A financial crisis seems to have come to stay, not only in Portugal but in Europe and all over the world.
Unemployment, debt, hard fiscal and social policies are only but few problems which are currently being identified as huge ones demanding concrete and solid solutions.
Portugal is in an unconfortable position in this context. The bad quality of the professional politicians and the evidences which point out corruption don’t make their contribution to improve the contemporaneous image and the real situation of it, but also seem to be the main factors to be identified as responsible for preserving this statu quo.
Therefore, one must consider that the theoretical contribution of Moisei Yakovlevich Ostrogorski remains actual.
